Weddings at St. Philip's

We are glad you have chosen to begin your life together by asking for God’s blessing, and we wish you great happiness. 

For all enquiries about marriage please telephone the Parish Office on 023 92 376307.*

To be married at St. Philip’s, you must be over 16 (if under 18 you must have written consent of a parent or legal guardian). One of you must live in the Parish or be on the Church electoral roll, or you must have a qualifying connection (see below).

Qualification

(any one of these criteria must apply)


That one of you:

  • has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
  • was baptised in the parish concerned or
  • was prepared for confirmation in the parish or
  • has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

That one of your parents, at any time after you were born:

  • has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
  • has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

That one of your parents or grandparents:

  • was married in the parish

If one or both of you have been divorced you may still marry at St. Philip’s.

You will need to discuss this.
